Literature Text
Whoever said that love was easy, well
I doubt their wisdom now, and yet I know
I hear her voice, clear like a shining bell
And see her face, and like heaven it glows
Forgive me, muse, when I say that I tire
Of trying hard to love, only to fail
But when I look into your eyes, the wind
Of life renews itself upon my sail
Oh love! The words spill out my stupid mouth
Not to be brash, and yet it's just insane
To love like this, I think it's going south
Who cares? And yet it causes me much pain
In fleeting light I remember your face
But remem'bring has brought only disgrace
I doubt their wisdom now, and yet I know
I hear her voice, clear like a shining bell
And see her face, and like heaven it glows
Forgive me, muse, when I say that I tire
Of trying hard to love, only to fail
But when I look into your eyes, the wind
Of life renews itself upon my sail
Oh love! The words spill out my stupid mouth
Not to be brash, and yet it's just insane
To love like this, I think it's going south
Who cares? And yet it causes me much pain
In fleeting light I remember your face
But remem'bring has brought only disgrace
It's a sonnet. A very bad sonnet.
